I am based in London SE27 with a catchment area of south London and surrounds, extending to parts of Surrey and Kent.
I live with Yogi, a GSD/Malinois mix, a rescue dog who has proved to be my most challenged dog, behaviourally and medically. All my dogs since early childhood have been rescue dogs - some of them with a variety of behaviour issues.
In 1988 I decided to turn my life-long interest in dogs into a little enterprise and established HAPPY DOGS. It was originally a dog-walking service (a novel concept at the time), but rapidly developed to include training and behaviour adjustment for some of my pack members. My clients very much appreciated this - as did the general public, unaccustomed to seeing several dogs being exercised at the same time! Since establishing HAPPY DOGS, I have dealt with canine behaviour and training issues on a continuous, daily basis.
In the late 80's I was affiliated to, and relief trainer at, two dog training clubs but decided towards the mid-90's to leave and explore more enlightened training methods. To enhance my extensive practical knowledge, I attended numerous courses, gaining qualifications in canine behaviour and training. As a member of the APDT and IACE, I am obliged to update my professional development on an ongoing basis. However, I consider the dogs to be my best teachers.
